This xianxia novel blends action, adventure, comedy, martial arts, and romance into a captivating story that kept me hitting "next chapter" more often than I probably should have.
First Impressions
The premise immediately grabbed my attention. The idea of a female lead transmigrating into a novel she read on a coworker's recommendation is hilarious and sets a lighthearted tone early on. It definitely piqued my curiosity and made me eager to dive in.
What Works Well
The strength of this novel lies in its characters and world-building, even if that world-building is a little vague. I particularly enjoyed the "big sister" dynamic of the FL, Ye Su. She's an OP character, but her strength is justified, and she genuinely cares for those around her. The relationships between the characters, especially within the sect, felt genuine and supportive. I also appreciated that the male lead, while sometimes acting childish, ultimately proves to be strong and dependable when it matters most. The author does a good job of creating a FL that you want to root for.
Areas of Concern
While the overall story is enjoyable, the ending does feel rushed. The cultivation speed is also incredibly fast. I also wished for a bit more romance. The romantic development felt subtle, with only hints of deeper connection until the very end.
