The premise itself isn’t terrible. A forced divorce, a faked death, hidden twins – it has all the hallmarks of a dramatic romance. I was hoping for a tale of resilience and a strong female lead reclaiming her life. Unfortunately, my initial optimism quickly faded.
What Works Well
Honestly, finding positives in this novel was a challenge. If I were to stretch, I'd say the idea of character growth is present, even if the execution falls flat. There's potential in the twins themselves, offering moments of levity and cuteness that break up the otherwise heavy atmosphere. But these glimmers are few and far between.

Where do I even begin? The biggest issue, and one that seems to be a common sentiment, is the problematic relationship between the leads. The male lead’s behavior is, to put it mildly, atrocious. We're talking about a character who displays a disturbing lack of respect for consent and boundaries. The female lead doesn't fare much better, often making choices that defy logic and common sense. I found myself constantly questioning her decisions and motivations. The constant misunderstandings and contrived situations orchestrated by the villainous sister became tiresome very quickly. It felt like the plot relied on characters acting against their own best interests to create drama.
