The early chapters paint a picture of a cool-headed, intelligent MC determined to avoid the pitfalls of the original plot. The school setting, with its rigid social strata defined by brooch colors, immediately creates a compelling backdrop.

What Works Well

The world-building is definitely a strong point. The author creates a believable system where background dictates status, and the descriptions of the academy are vivid. I also appreciated the initial characterization of Jian Chi, the MC. His attempts to stay out of trouble, his calm demeanor, and his flashes of temper made him relatable.
