It could've gone either way. But I was pleasantly surprised by the heartwarming core of this story. It's a fluffy and sweet read, and I found myself genuinely invested in the characters.

What Works Well

The absolute star of the show is An An. She's undeniably cute, and her interactions with her parents are the heart of the novel. The author does a great job portraying her innocence and how she navigates the world around her. I also appreciated that the parents, Mo Sui and Gu Yingchen, weren't perfect. They had their flaws and past hurts, but they genuinely tried to provide a loving environment for An An.
