My Thoughts on Yearning of You for a Long Time
"Yearning of You for a Long Time" promised a fluffy, light-hearted romance, and for the most part, it delivered. While it wasn't without its minor flaws, I found myself charmed by the characters and the overall sweetness of the story.
First Impressions
The beginning was a little jarring, to be honest. Instead of the typical childhood introduction, the story throws you right into a pre-existing conflict between the leads, Shi Luo and Tang Qishen. It took me a few chapters to get my bearings and understand the dynamic between them. However, once I did, I was hooked.
What Works Well
The strength of this novel lies in its characters. Shi Luo and Tang Qishen are incredibly endearing. Their mutual pining is painfully obvious, and I loved watching their comfortable yet teasing interactions. The author does a great job of portraying their deep-seated affection for each other.
I also appreciated the well-developed side characters. Shi Luo's best friend is a comedic gem, and their friendship feels authentic and fun. Even some of the antagonists have surprising depth, hinting at motivations beyond simple jealousy or spite. This added a layer of complexity that kept me engaged. The familial love, especially the doting parents, is another heartwarming aspect that I enjoyed.

While the translation is generally good, there are a few awkward phrases that occasionally disrupt the flow. It's not a major issue, as the meaning is usually clear, but it's something to be aware of.
