The blaring of car horns and the howls of stray dogs rang out unnervingly. Sudden, unexplained deaths kept happening. Ghostly figures crawled out from beneath beds. The air grew heavier, suffocating. And worst of all—no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t find his way home.

Okay, so I dove into "Xiangyang Town" with a mix of excitement and trepidation, given its genre-bending description and the "complete" status. The premise, blending comedy, fantasy, horror, sci-fi, and even a touch of romance, definitely piqued my interest. The idea of a survival thriller with time travel and "unlimited flow" elements sounded like a wild ride.
First Impressions
Right off the bat, I was drawn in. The writing is strong, and the translation seems top-notch, which always makes a huge difference. The initial setup is intriguing, dropping you right into the thick of things without holding your hand. I found myself immediately invested in the characters and eager to unravel the mysteries surrounding Xiangyang Town.

It's frustrating to get so invested in a story only to realize that it's essentially just the first arc. The ending, or rather, the lack thereof, feels abrupt and leaves you wanting a lot more. This is the main reason why I feel conflicted about recommending it.

"Xiangyang Town" is a captivating read with a lot of potential. The writing is strong, the translation is excellent, and the premise is highly intriguing. However, the "complete" status is misleading, as it feels more like the beginning of a much larger story. If you're okay with a fantastic introduction that leaves you with more questions than answers, then I'd say give it a shot. But be warned: you might find yourself desperately craving more.
