Description

However, my first impression of the male lead (ML), Si Qi, wasn't great. The story begins with a forced marriage, a quick divorce, and a contract relinquishing his rights to any potential child. It felt cold and left me with a bit of a grudge, and I wasn't sure how the author would redeem him.
What Works Well
The strongest aspect of this novel is undoubtedly the crime-solving element. Ji Chan's forensic skills are fascinating, and I enjoyed seeing her unravel mysteries in a time period where such techniques were unheard of. Her character is a major draw.
