First Impressions
The initial chapters felt a tad generic, but I quickly realized that was just a setup for the zaniness to come. The premise itself is quite unique: a male lead annoyed by a novel that's using him as a character, only to discover the author is a money-loving, shameless woman who becomes his subordinate. It's a recipe for comedic gold, and the novel delivers.
What Works Well
The heart of this story lies in the banter between Tang Tianyuan and Miao Miao Sheng. Their interactions are hilarious, witty, and never dull. The plot cleverly avoids unnecessary drama and angst, and the characters are smart, resourceful, and wonderfully flawed. I found myself laughing out loud at their antics, from rescuing a "dog" that turns out to be a lion cub to their constant bickering over money.
