Description

My Thoughts on Top Edge
"Top Edge" is a completed web novel that I decided to try after seeing a variety of opinions. It's a blend of adventure, fantasy, romance, and sci-fi, set in a futuristic dystopia. The premise, involving amnesia, super soldiers, and political intrigue, definitely piqued my interest.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the action-packed start and the ambiguous tension between the MC, Shen Siwei, and the ML, Klet. The world-building is quick, throwing you straight into the story. While this can be a bit confusing at first, I found myself quickly invested in the mystery surrounding both characters and their intertwined destinies.
What Works Well
I found the plot to be generally solid, with plenty of twists to keep me engaged. The dynamic between the MC and ML is a definite highlight. Their banter is often hilarious, and the chemistry between them is undeniable. I also appreciated that the MC is a strong character who isn't afraid to stand his ground, even against the ML. The concept of environmental destruction and resource scarcity as background elements added depth to the story, making it more than just a simple action romance.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the overall experience, I did find some aspects a bit rushed, particularly in the second half of the story. The romance development felt somewhat abrupt, going from tension to deep affection rather quickly. I also noticed that the characters' personalities seemed to shift a bit, with the ML becoming more childish and the MC losing some of his initial edge. Some plot points felt underdeveloped, and I would have appreciated more exploration of character backstories and motivations.

Final Verdict
Despite its flaws, "Top Edge" is an enjoyable and relatively quick read. If you're looking for an action-packed story with a strong male lead, interesting characters, and a dystopian setting, this novel is worth checking out.
