This title is quite the mouthful, isn't it? But don't let the length scare you off. This short story offers a unique twist on the classic "kicked from the hero party" trope with a protagonist who refuses to stay down, armed with the power of Save & Load.
First Impressions
Initially, I found the premise intriguing. A hero party dismissal combined with time manipulation screams potential for satisfying revenge. I was curious to see how the author would handle the MC's repeated attempts to change his fate and whether he'd truly succeed in shaking things up. The initial impression was a mixed bag, a bit rough around the edges but with a core concept that held promise.
What Works Well
What I appreciated most was the MC's development. He starts off quite naive, almost childish in his pursuit of recognition and wealth, especially from the Hero. But the story quickly shifts gears, and we see him becoming more cunning and determined. His stubbornness becomes his strength as he learns to leverage his Save & Load ability to its fullest potential. I also enjoyed the revenge aspect. Seeing him mess with the Hero after being wronged was quite satisfying.
