"The Paranoid Black Lotus" promised a blend of drama, fantasy, romance, and shounen ai, a combination that usually piques my interest. With tags like "second chance" and "doting love interests," I went in hoping for a heartwarming tale. However, my experience ended up being quite mixed, and ultimately, I struggled to connect with the story.

Initially, I was intrigued by the premise of a reborn protagonist navigating a second chance at love. The idea of a character, Gu Su, armed with past life knowledge attempting to secure his relationship with the ML seemed like a solid foundation for a compelling plot. But, from the get-go, something felt off.
