I was immediately intrigued by the idea of a flawed protagonist, someone driven by envy and loneliness, rather than pure heroism. The initial chapters pulled me in with the promise of intricate world-building and a compelling, if unsettling, character dynamic.
What Works Well
The characterization is definitely a strong point. The MC is far from perfect; he's envious, jealous, and deeply flawed, which makes him feel incredibly human and relatable, even when his actions are questionable.
