The novel blends action, drama, romance, and school life, creating a somewhat chaotic but ultimately engaging experience.
First Impressions
I was immediately drawn in by the premise of an OP female lead who wasn't consumed by revenge. The idea of a protagonist who doesn't need constant saving is always appealing. The initial chapters set up an interesting dynamic with her estranged family, one that felt refreshingly realistic, albeit a little reserved.
What Works Well
The MC is the strongest aspect of the novel. Her background as an assassin adds a unique layer to her personality. Despite her OP nature, she has flaws, making her feel more human. Her gradual growth and adaptation to a normal life, especially with the help of the male lead and her school friends, was a highlight. I also appreciated that the story didn't rely on excessive "face-slapping" moments. Some antagonists even underwent redemption arcs, which I found to be a pleasant surprise. The male lead, while a bit of a typical domineering CEO, showed genuine care for the MC's well-being and encouraged her independence, which was a nice touch.
Areas of Concern
While the core story was enjoyable, the ending felt a bit rushed and tacked on. The introduction of new, short-lived antagonists after the main conflict felt unnecessary. I also found the handling of the side characters' romantic arcs somewhat disappointing, particularly the introduction of a random love interest instead of utilizing existing characters.
