My Thoughts on Temporary Bodyguard

"Temporary Bodyguard" was a delightful surprise! I went in expecting one thing, and got so much more. This novel blends action, mystery, and comedy with a healthy dose of the supernatural, creating a story that kept me hooked from beginning to end.

First Impressions

Initially, I was a little confused, but that quickly faded as the intriguing plot started to unfold. The premise itself is quite unique: a bodyguard who needs an oxygen tank for a power boost? I was immediately curious to learn more about the MC and his secrets. The dynamic between the main characters is also interesting from the start, with hints of a deeper connection lurking beneath the surface.

What Works Well

The world-building is fantastic. The cases they tackle, often linked to a larger conspiracy, are realistic and engaging. I appreciated that the mysteries had depth, tackling issues like cult brainwashing and corporate negligence. The humor is spot-on, especially the banter between the MC, his brother, and his nephew. The characters feel incredibly human, despite some of their more…unusual traits.

I especially loved the MC's sharp wit and ability to make anyone's head spin in an argument. Plus, the author does a great job of developing the relationships between characters, making them feel genuine and compelling.
