Jiang Zhi Xu’s luck was slightly better than that of other Omegas — his roommate Yi He was Xia Shu’s childhood friend, and the two had grown up together with a deep bond. The story has a very college/university vibe and felt like a fluffy Ao3 one-shot, which immediately appealed to my love for quick, feel-good reads.
What Works Well
The cuteness factor is definitely off the charts! I loved the oblivious MC and the subtle ways the ML showed his affection. The author did a great job portraying the MC's gentle and unassuming nature. The pining was palpable, and it was satisfying to see the eventual realization of mutual feelings. The story is also incredibly concise. At only ten chapters, many of which are quite short, it’s easy to breeze through, making it perfect for a quick pick-me-up. The ending is satisfyingly fluffy, providing a heartwarming conclusion to their romantic journey.
Areas of Concern
The main drawback, in my opinion, is the lack of depth. The story is so short that the relationship development feels rushed, and certain aspects remain unexplored. I would have loved to see more context behind the ML's feelings for the MC and a deeper exploration of their individual personalities. The plot is fairly simplistic, and while it's fitting for the length, it does leave you wanting more substance. It feels like the story could be expanded into a longer novel to really flesh out the characters and their relationships.
