My Thoughts on Soaring of Galaxia
"Soaring of Galaxia" promised a grand xuanhuan adventure, and while it has moments that shine, my overall experience has been somewhat mixed. It’s a novel with a lot of potential, but struggles to consistently deliver on its initial promise.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the familiar setup: a reincarnation story with a protagonist armed with knowledge from Earth in a world of cultivation. The early chapters moved at a brisk pace, introducing the world and the conflicts facing the MC's family. However, I soon discovered the pacing becomes a major issue.
What Works Well
I appreciate the author's attempt to create a protagonist who isn't just powerful, but also cares for his family. The MC is ruthless when necessary, but also displays a sense of loyalty and protectiveness. I also found the world-building to be adequate, with a decent sense of mystery that kept me somewhat engaged. Binge reading does seem to alleviate some of the issues as the story progresses quite fast. The MC's rise to power is also satisfying to witness, and I found the fights enjoyable.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the issues started piling up. The biggest complaint I have is the pacing. Many chapters feel like filler, with repetitive descriptions and drawn-out sequences that don't contribute significantly to the main plot. There's also a tendency to "tell, not show," with characters constantly praising the MC's genius rather than demonstrating it through compelling action.
Another problem is the frequent use of clichés. Arrogant young masters, scheming families, and face-slapping scenarios abound. While these tropes are common in the genre, their execution often feels uninspired. I also noticed that the MC's decisions don't always align with his established personality, leading to inconsistencies that can be frustrating.

Final Verdict
"Soaring of Galaxia" has the potential to be a good xuanhuan novel, but it's bogged down by pacing issues, excessive filler, and reliance on tired tropes. While the MC's character and the world-building offer some redeeming qualities, the overall experience is uneven. I'd recommend approaching this one with caution and a willingness to skim through the less engaging sections.
