Description

First Impressions
The initial draw for many seems to be the premise of an ancient protagonist waking up after a long period of cryosleep. I can understand the allure – the idea of a character navigating a changed world with the wisdom (or perhaps the rustiness) of ages is always intriguing. However, it seems that initial intrigue quickly fades for some, replaced by frustration.
What Works Well
A few readers have highlighted the slow-burn nature of the story as a positive. The focus on character interplay and backstory, rather than constant action, appeals to those who appreciate a more deliberate pace. Some even felt the main character's imperfections made him relatable, a refreshing change from the often-overpowered protagonists in similar genres.
