Description
When hens were on the edge of extinction, roosters had a hard time finding a mate. Humans were on the verge of losing baby chicks…..and eggs to eat! But luckily, ABO hormones appeared. The later generations of chickens were able to continue to multiply. Chickens laid eggs; eggs hatched into chickens. The useless, skinny, little Omega chicken didn’t receive a warm welcome for the reason that it was hard for him to get pregnant. Until one day, when he met a fat and blind rooster. Afterwards, they became the world’s most handsome Alpha chicken and the world’s most fertile Omega chicken.

My Thoughts on Rooster X Rooster
"Rooster X Rooster" is... well, it's certainly an experience. Going in, I wasn't sure what to expect from a yaoi novel centered around, you guessed it, roosters. What I found was a surprisingly engaging and often hilarious story that somehow manages to blend classic romance tropes with the absurdity of an omegaverse populated by chickens. Yes, you read that right.
First Impressions
My initial reaction was definitely a mix of confusion and morbid curiosity. The premise is so outlandish that I couldn't help but dive in. The first chapter is a riot, and sets the tone for the rest of the novel – a blend of crack humor and surprisingly heartfelt moments. The fact that the humans seem to understand the chickens without issue is a bit odd at first, but you quickly learn to roll with it.
What Works Well
The humor is definitely a strong point. I found myself laughing out loud at the ridiculous situations the characters find themselves in. The story also manages to deliver on the classic dog-blood drama elements. Amnesia? Check. Fat-to-fit transformation? Check. Angsty separation and a melodramatic climax? Double-check. It's all there, but with chickens, which somehow makes it both more absurd and more endearing. The side characters, especially the perpetually broke and Pomelo Tea-obsessed owner, are also fantastic. The author does a great job of creating a believable, albeit bizarre, world where chickens have complex social structures and even attend school.

Final Verdict
Despite the bizarre premise and potentially off-putting content, "Rooster X Rooster" is a surprisingly enjoyable read. It's a short, funny, and surprisingly well-constructed story that manages to deliver on both the humor and the romance. If you're looking for something completely different and don't mind a bit of absurdity, I'd recommend giving it a try. Just be prepared to question your life choices afterward. I'm giving it a solid 4.5/5. It's definitely a novel I won't soon forget.
