"Rescuing the Supporting Character" promises a whirlwind of romance, adventure, and a touch of tragedy, and while it delivers on some fronts, my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The premise is intriguing: a protagonist tasked with "rescuing" characters in various worlds. I found myself drawn in by the initial concept, but the execution left me with some reservations.

The early arcs definitely grabbed my attention. I was particularly invested in the first world, where the angst and the dynamic between the cunning female lead and the obsessive male lead created a compelling tension. The author's writing style, at times, evoked a strong emotional response, even bringing tears to my eyes – a testament to their ability to connect with the reader on a deeper level.

What Works Well

The protagonist's professional yet devoted approach to her missions is a definite highlight. I appreciated her unique attitude and the way she wholeheartedly threw herself into each role. Apparently, the final arcs, which focus on the male lead and allow us to understand him beyond his assigned character, are also a strong point.

His initial inner thoughts and actions painted him as a rather unsavory character, and while his feelings supposedly underwent a reversal, I found it difficult to completely forgive his earlier behavior. The way he initiated the first kiss was also a major turn-off.
