Description
Fang Huaining — the top student of University A’s School of Computer Science. Beautiful, highly intelligent, self-disciplined, cool and aloof, a master of both theory and programming, admired by many. Li Ting — a chronic class-skipper from a ninth-rate university, a workaholic who’d swept through all twelve streets of the campus doing odd jobs. Aggressive, withdrawn, stingy, and gloomy, master of multiple foreign languages, disliked by many. Classmate: “Ace, that handsome delivery guy who always brings us eel rice actually served as a German translator for our professor once. Did you recommend him?” Fang Huaining: “No. Not familiar.” Gay friend: “Li’zi, after dinner today, that big shot from the School of Computer Science across the way actually came over and paid our bill. Do you know him?” Li Ting: “Who? Not familiar.” Li Ting: “Why do you always take a bus all the way out to the suburbs to secretly pick vegetables I planted? Am I familiar with you?” Fang Huaining: “Why do you keep changing your IP to monitor my personal website? Am I familiar with you either?”

My Thoughts on Not Familiar
"Not Familiar" is a college romance that completely charmed me. It's a sweet story that explores the relationship between two seemingly stoic characters, and I found myself quickly invested in their journey. It's a refreshing take on the genre, and I definitely recommend giving it a read.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the mystery surrounding Li Ting, the MC. The story unfolds, revealing his past and personality as the ML, Fang Huaining, also uncovers them. The story starts from Fang Huaining's perspective before shifting into Li Ting's perspective. This drew me in and made me root for the characters to slowly fall in love.
What Works Well
The relationship between Fang Huaining and Li Ting is a highlight. Many readers, including myself, found it to be one of the healthiest relationships they have read in a while. The dynamic is built on respect and understanding, with both characters offering silent support to each other in their own ways. I really appreciated how the author developed their relationship; it felt natural and unforced. The overall tone of the novel is light and fluffy, perfect for a relaxing read. I also liked that the drama was minimal. It's a slice-of-life story, so don't expect many plot twists.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the novel, I can see why some readers might find it less memorable. It's a very gentle story, and the lack of significant conflict may not appeal to everyone. I also noted that some found the romance a bit one-sided for a portion of the novel, with the ML doing most of the pursuing. I can understand that, but I think it's a subjective point, and I didn't personally mind it as the story progressed.

If you're looking for a campus romance with a touch of mystery and a healthy dose of fluff, I highly recommend giving this novel a try. I'd give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.
