From the get-go, I was intrigued by the premise. The blend of ghost stories, reincarnation, and a power couple dynamic had me hooked. The tags highlighting a cold protagonist and a human-nonhuman relationship also piqued my interest, suggesting a unique and potentially angsty dynamic, which I'm always a sucker for.
What Works Well
The emotional depth of this story is undeniable. I found myself deeply invested in the backstories of both the MC and the ML. The author does a fantastic job of crafting compelling narratives for the ghosts they encounter, adding layers of sadness and empathy to the ghost-catching aspect of the plot. The pacing felt spot-on, keeping me engaged from beginning to end. I was genuinely locked in, eager to see how their relationship developed and how they navigated the challenges thrown their way. The power dynamic between the two leads is also well-executed, creating a satisfying and engaging partnership.
Areas of Concern
While I thoroughly enjoyed the main story, I did find myself wanting more afterwards. I personally would have loved to see more slice-of-life moments depicting the MC and ML simply enjoying their time together, now that the main conflicts are resolved. Some additional side stories exploring their happy, peaceful life would have been a welcome addition.

Overall, "Metaphysics’ Public Enemy" is a compelling and emotionally resonant novel. The well-developed characters, engaging plot, and satisfying romance make it a worthwhile read. While I would have appreciated more content showing the couple in domestic bliss, the core story is strong enough to stand on its own.
