Description

My Thoughts on Mansion Attack
"Mansion Attack" promised a blend of modern-day business, supernatural elements, and a developing romance, and while it had some engaging aspects, it ultimately left me feeling a little conflicted.
First Impressions
The initial premise, involving wealthy businessmen, a cursed mansion, and a dash of feng shui, definitely piqued my interest. I was ready for a spooky and romantic ride. The early interactions between the MC and ML had a certain spark, a bickering dynamic that hinted at a deeper connection.
What Works Well
The story is relatively quick and easy to read. The mystery surrounding the haunted mansion and the female ghost was a decent hook, unfolding at a pace that kept me curious. I found myself particularly drawn to the character of the ghost sister. Her sassy personality and quest for revenge added a fun and lighthearted element to the story, she was a delight whenever she appeared.
Areas of Concern
My main issue lies in the relationship dynamic between the MC and ML. I felt the MC was often put in uncomfortable situations, and the power balance felt skewed. It felt like the MC was being forced into actions he didn't genuinely desire, and the ML's reactions sometimes felt inadequate. This created a sense of unease, and the lack of explicit consent in certain early scenes was a significant drawback for me. The romance felt rushed and didn't quite convince me. Also, I noticed that the editing goes awry towards the end, with character names being incorrectly translated.

"Mansion Attack" has some charming qualities, particularly the engaging side characters and the relatively quick-paced plot. However, the problematic power dynamics and lack of clear consent in the early romantic development ultimately detracted from my enjoyment. If you're looking for a light read with supernatural elements and are willing to overlook some potentially triggering content, this might be worth a try. For me, it was a mixed bag, leaving me with a final rating of 3/5.
