First Impressions
Initially, I was hooked by the premise. A half-immortal, half-mortal exorcist transmigrating to ancient times due to a pre-arranged agreement? Yes, please! The early chapters were a delightful mix of ghost hunting, business ventures, and slow-burn romance. The female lead's carefree attitude and competence were a breath of fresh air. I appreciated that she wasn't portrayed as helpless and actually used her skills to solve problems.
What Works Well
The first half of the novel, set in ancient times, is where it truly shines. The interactions between the female lead and Lord Chu are engaging, often funny, and the romance unfolds at a satisfying pace. I also enjoyed the various cases involving ghosts, demons, and immortals. The female lead's ability to earn money and help her relatives added another layer to her character, making her relatable despite her supernatural abilities. Several readers praised the male lead's respectful nature and how he acknowledged the female lead's strength.

As the story transitioned back to the modern world, I felt a noticeable shift in quality. The plot became somewhat dragging, and the cases lost their initial intrigue.
