Description
A high budget martial arts drama called “Magnificent” has taken the summer by storm. Gu Chong, a C-list actress who plays Yan Ruyu in the drama, finally skyrockets to fame in the entertainment industry after years of hard work. My Thoughts on Listen to God
Listen to God is a novel that completely absorbed me. Jumping into a time loop story, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I emerged thoroughly impressed. The blend of drama, mystery, romance, and even a touch of thriller elements makes this a unique GL (Girls' Love) novel that I'd readily recommend.
First Impressions
Initially, I was a bit wary of the time loop premise. I feared it might become repetitive, with the same events unfolding over and over. However, the author masterfully avoids this pitfall. Each loop reveals new information, deepens the relationships, and ratchets up the suspense, keeping me constantly engaged.
What Works Well
The storytelling is exceptional. The author has created a world where the stakes feel real, and the characters' choices have genuine consequences. The romance between Lin Shangci and Gu Chong is beautifully developed, never feeling rushed or forced. It grows naturally alongside the central mystery, adding depth and emotional resonance to the narrative. The balance between suspense, mystery, and romantic development is masterfully done. The plot twists kept me guessing, and I found myself genuinely invested in the characters' fates. Also, I really appreciated the strong female lead characters.
Areas of Concern
While I thoroughly enjoyed Listen to God, there were a couple of minor points that I noticed. I felt that the initial reactions of Lin Shangci to the first few regressions felt a little silly and rushed, but I appreciated the character development as the story progressed. Additionally, I would have liked to see a bit more backstory for Gu Chong, particularly regarding her family. Exploring her past could have added another layer of understanding to her character.

Despite these minor concerns, Listen to God is an excellent novel that I highly recommend.
