I was curious to see how Ling Qianbai would navigate his feelings while Xu Zhixue was still with someone else.

Ling Qianbai is definitely a standout character. He’s not your typical cold CEO; his snarky, witty personality is genuinely charming. The novel excels at depicting his subtle yet persistent pursuit of Xu Zhixue after the breakup. I loved the "push and pull" dynamic and how he respected Xu Zhixue's boundaries while still making his feelings known. The author did a great job of portraying Ling Qianbai's long-held affection for Xu Zhixue, creating a sense of devotion and protectiveness that resonated with me. The humor is well-placed, and the side characters add depth to the story without overshadowing the main couple. The pacing is also well-managed, keeping me engaged throughout most of the novel.

One of the issues I had was with the initial focus on the ex-boyfriend. He felt too central to the story in the beginning, almost like a second male lead.
