First Impressions
Going in, I knew this was going to be a fairly straightforward story. The premise of a prince chasing after a seemingly indifferent omega in a futuristic setting definitely piqued my interest, and the initial chapters delivered on that promise. I was quickly drawn into the dynamic between the two leads.
What Works Well
The main strength of this novel lies in its sweet and humorous interactions. The MC, an alpha prince, is portrayed as a devoted and almost puppy-like character, relentlessly pursuing the omega ML. I found myself chuckling at the comedic scenes where both leads are seemingly oblivious to the fact that their secret identities are already known to each other. The romance is definitely the focus here, and if you enjoy a persistent, green-flag MC, you'll likely enjoy this aspect of the story. The story does a good job of establishing the ML's initial reluctance and his gradual warming up to the MC, making the romance feel earned.
Areas of Concern
While the lightheartedness is a plus, it also contributes to some of the novel's weaknesses. I felt the plot lacked depth, and the political intrigue hinted at in the beginning never really materialized. The focus remained firmly on the romance, which, while cute, left me wanting more substance in other areas. There were also moments where character decisions seemed questionable, impacting my immersion.
