"I’m the City Lord of the Last Days" promised a blend of apocalypse survival, city management, and a touch of romance, so I dove in with a mix of excitement and curiosity. Overall, I found it to be a fairly entertaining, if somewhat flawed, read.

First Impressions

The initial setup is definitely intriguing. The MC wakes up with knowledge of the apocalypse and a game-like system that allows him to build and upgrade a city. Teaming up with the ML, who has his own cheat, they embark on a journey to create a haven in a zombie-infested world. I was immediately drawn in by the city-building aspect, as I'm a sucker for infrastructure development stories.

What Works Well

The strongest aspect of this novel is undoubtedly the city management system. I found the idea of building and upgrading a city using game-like mechanics to be quite captivating. The focus on developing the city and the MC and ML's abilities was a refreshing change from the usual drama-filled romance.
