"I Use Technology to Revitalize the Underworld" is a unique blend of supernatural, romance, and technological advancement that definitely kept me on my toes. The premise alone, combining the underworld with modern tech, is intriguing, and while the execution isn't flawless, there's a lot to appreciate.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the promise of a cold, calculating protagonist paired with doting love interests. The fusion of shounen ai and the supernatural also piqued my interest. The concept of a protagonist using science to revolutionize the underworld felt fresh, and I was eager to see how the author would blend these elements.
What Works Well
The world-building is, without a doubt, one of the novel's strongest points. I particularly enjoyed the way the author incorporated scientific principles into the supernatural setting. The MC's approach to the underworld as a new, unexplored field of study was fascinating, and his explanations of how supernatural phenomena could exist within a materialistic framework were clever.
The slow-burn romance between the MC and ML also deserves praise. While the romantic development takes a backseat to the plot, the dynamic between the two characters is compelling, especially their contrasting personalities. The fact that both characters are OP doesn't detract from the enjoyment; instead, it allows the story to focus on their interactions and how they support each other.
