I definitely got lured in by the happy-go-lucky title like many others did.
What Works Well
One of the strongest aspects of this novel is the character development, especially when it comes to Ying Sheng, the ML. I found his growth from a somewhat psychopathic character to someone capable of genuine connection compelling. The instances themselves are interesting and well-integrated into the overarching plot, driving the story forward in meaningful ways. I also appreciated the author's world-building, which managed to avoid many of the usual clichés. Even though the romance is slow-burn, there's a unique dynamic between the leads that I found refreshing, particularly the ML's strength and possessiveness.
