"I Have Refined Qi For 3000 Years!" is a xuanhuan comedy that I found to be a mixed bag, to be honest. The premise is definitely unique and it has moments that genuinely made me laugh, but there are also some significant drawbacks that held it back from being a truly great read.

First Impressions

The initial hook is quite intriguing: a seemingly weak MC stuck at the Qi Refining stage for millennia, far surpassing the realm's natural lifespan. The initial chapters had me curious about how this situation came to be and how he navigates a world where his juniors have long surpassed him. It definitely sets the stage for some potentially hilarious interactions and power dynamics.

What Works Well

The humor is definitely the strongest point. The MC's petty nature and the ironic situation of being an overpowered cultivator constantly looked down upon provide plenty of opportunities for comedic gold. I particularly enjoyed the moments where his past disciples, now leading powerful sects, interact with him. The author does a good job of subverting common cultivation tropes, which adds to the comedic effect. The romance aspect, while present, doesn't feel forced and integrates well within the story.
