Description
Lu Yuan. Originally, he was just a normal ordinary person, but one day, he crossed over to a parallel universe and became the famous Doomsday of the DC universe. Doomsday was not just a single monster. It was a terrifying legion made by the technology of Kryptonian civilization. However, Doomsday was not Superman. It was actually a terrifying biological weapon that was created by transforming and resurrecting the Kryptonians who died after gaining superhuman strength. Lu Yuan crossed over and became one of the Doomsday. Then he stayed inside the Sun’s core for a hundred thousand years. One day, Lu Yuan woke up, but just as he flew back to Earth, he discovered that this was no longer the Earth of the DC universe. He didn’t know why he seemed to have traveled to the Marvel universe? “Isn’t that incredible? Without kryptonite, I’m a God.”

My Thoughts on I, Doomsday, Stayed Inside the Sun’s Core for a Hundred Thousand Years!
This title certainly grabbed my attention, and the premise – Doomsday chilling in the sun for millennia – is undeniably intriguing. However, my experience reading this novel was ultimately a mixed bag.
First Impressions
Initially, I was hooked by the sheer audacity of the concept. The idea of a character with Doomsday's raw power, transported to the Marvel universe after spending an absurd amount of time marinating in solar energy, held a lot of promise. The beginning sets up the MC's origin story, showcasing his initial struggles and eventual adaptation to his new environment, which piqued my interest.
What Works Well
The sheer power of the MC is, for some, a major draw. There's a certain appeal to seeing a character who can seemingly overcome any obstacle, and the novel definitely delivers on that front. The author clearly has a deep understanding of both Doomsday's lore and the Marvel universe, weaving in various characters and events from the comics. I did appreciate the world-building, and the initial chapters hinted at a potentially interesting power progression system.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the execution falters in several key areas. One of my main issues was the MC's personality. While a strong character is welcome, the MC comes across as overly arrogant and pretentious. His interactions with other characters often felt forced, with him constantly asserting his dominance and belittling those around him. This made it difficult for me to connect with him or root for his success.
Another problem I encountered was the writing itself. There were inconsistencies and logical leaps that pulled me out of the story. For example, early on, the novel contradicts itself regarding sound in space.

Final Verdict
I, Doomsday, Stayed Inside the Sun’s Core for a Hundred Thousand Years! has a fascinating premise and a clear understanding of its source material. However, the execution, particularly in terms of character development and consistent writing, ultimately falls short. While the novel might appeal to those who enjoy overpowered protagonists and unadulterated wish fulfillment, I found the experience to be somewhat disappointing. I'm giving it a 2.5/5.
