Description
Everyone said that Wen Yufeng was the school bully of No. 1 High School. Cutting classes, fighting, poor grades, smoking and clubbing to make girlfriends, he did all kinds of bad things. Until a young talented girl from middle school skipped some grades. “Brother Yu, the grandsons of No. 3 High School are looking for trouble again! What should we do?” The boy flung aside his cigarette, his eyes narrowed, and his handsome face was lazy and ruthless: “Kill them.” At night, the fiendish entourage arrived at the door of the No. 1 class. A slender beautiful girl was standing at the boys’ desk. Her voice was soft. “He hasn’t finished his vocabulary, so he can’t go.”

My Thoughts on He’s so Flirty
"He's so Flirty" promised a sweet campus romance, and while it delivered on some aspects, it also stumbled in ways that left me feeling a bit disappointed. The premise of a high IQ female lead and a seemingly complicated male lead drew me in initially, but the execution felt uneven.
First Impressions
I was initially charmed by the idea of a lighthearted school life romance. The concept of Qin Qing and Wen Yufeng navigating their feelings amidst the backdrop of school was appealing. I was ready for some fluff and cute interactions, and the beginning definitely offered that.
What Works Well
The first half of the novel, focusing on the characters' development in a campus setting, definitely had its moments. Many readers appreciated the focus on the romance and the relatively low-stakes conflict. Some found the male lead's devotion endearing, appreciating the "yandere" undertones, even if only directed at the female lead. The author’s ability to create deeply devoted male leads was noted, with some readers even admitting to crying due to the touching way he treated the protagonist. The quick resolution of misunderstandings was also a plus, avoiding drawn-out drama that can often plague these types of stories.
Areas of Concern
However, as the story progressed, I found myself increasingly frustrated. The world-building felt shallow, with the school environment and supporting characters lacking depth. The male lead's background felt vague and underdeveloped, making it difficult to fully invest in his character. The second half's time skip introduced conflicts that felt forced and out of place. I also noticed the characters can sometimes be inconsistent.

Final Verdict
Ultimately, "He's so Flirty" is a mixed bag. While it offers moments of sweet romance and a devoted male lead, it suffers from a shallow world, forced conflicts, and underdeveloped characters. It may satisfy those looking for a quick and easy campus romance, but those seeking depth and nuance may be left wanting more. For me, it lands at a 3 out of 5 stars.
