My Thoughts on Guardian of The Sun
"Guardian of The Sun" has been quite the journey! With a blend of adventure, romance, and political intrigue set in ancient times, it's easy to see why this novel has garnered attention. I went in with an open mind, ready to explore the world and characters within.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the premise of a young prince, Aran, forced to flee his kingdom and rebuild his life. The early chapters, focusing on Aran's childhood, were particularly engaging. I found myself invested in his journey and eager to see how he would navigate the challenges ahead.
What Works Well
The world-building is a definite highlight. The author creates a believable and immersive setting, and the political elements, while not always the central focus, add depth and complexity to the story. I also appreciated the strong character development, especially Aran's growth from a sheltered prince to a capable individual. The male leads have palpable tension and the push and pull between them kept me anticipating what would happen next. Many readers praised the dynamic between the main characters, highlighting their interactions and the sense of equality in their relationship. The plot is well-paced and full of adventure.
Areas of Concern
One aspect that gave me pause was the age gap between Aran and his love interest. While the relationship doesn't develop until Aran is an adult, the initial dynamic where the ML rescues and raises him does raise some eyebrows. I can see why some readers might find this unsettling, and I think it's a valid concern to consider before diving into the story. Additionally, I wanted more insight into the ML's perspective and feelings. The author shows his feelings through the eyes of others, but I think the story would be stronger by knowing his POV.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Guardian of The Sun" is an enjoyable read with a compelling plot, well-developed characters, and a rich world. While there are certain elements that might not appeal to everyone, the novel offers a unique and engaging experience for those who enjoy historical romance with a touch of adventure and political intrigue. Despite its flaws, I'd recommend giving it a try, especially if you're a fan of this author's other works. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
