Okay, let's dive into "Full-time Anomaly." I went in with an open mind, knowing it's got a bit of a mixed reception. The premise seemed interesting enough, and I was curious to see if it lived up to the hype – or the lack thereof.
First Impressions
Right off the bat, I can see why some readers were immediately turned off. The initial chapters definitely have a familiar ring to them, and I can understand the comparisons being made to "My Wife is a Beautiful CEO." The setup feels similar, and it's hard to shake that feeling of déjà vu. Some of the early interactions felt a little forced, and I wasn't entirely sold on the MC's… let's call them "unique" approaches to meeting women.
What Works Well
Despite the rocky start, I did find some redeeming qualities as I continued reading. The action sequences are fairly well-written, and the MC's skills, once they're showcased, do add an element of excitement. I also appreciated the touches of parody; it felt like the author was at least trying to have some fun with the tropes of the genre. The translation quality also seemed solid, which is always a plus. I also commend the author for including other countries and Japan in the story in a positive and non-racist way.
Areas of Concern
The biggest hurdle for me was the originality factor. The similarities to other novels in the genre are hard to ignore, and it does detract from the overall experience. The character development felt a little rushed, and I didn't always understand the MC's motivations. There were moments where it felt like the plot was moving forward simply because it needed to, rather than because it organically made sense. Additionally, the novel was dropped after only 124 chapters, which is a major disappointment for anyone who invested their time into reading it.

"Full-time Anomaly" is a bit of a mixed bag. It has moments of genuine entertainment, but it's ultimately held back by its reliance on familiar tropes and its uninspired plot. If you're a die-hard fan of the genre and willing to overlook the similarities to other novels, you might find something to enjoy here. However, if you're looking for something truly original and groundbreaking, this probably isn't it. I'd give it a hesitant 2.5 out of 5 stars.
