Description
Shu Yuwan is the youngest daughter of the family, cherished by her parents and older brothers since childhood. Her mother carefully selected a noble son with outstanding character from the capital as her husband. After marriage, although the couple couldn’t be described as inseparable, they could still be considered respectful to each other. Unexpectedly, while she was pregnant, her husband claimed to have met a remarkable woman who astonished him, and he wanted to divorce her and marry that woman. She was unwilling, and her family also did not agree. Her husband took his beloved and left, not returning for seven years. With the fifth prince ascending the throne, her husband, holding the power of the imperial guards, returned with his beloved. She found herself in an awkward situation with her seven-year-old daughter. She had intended to divorce and take her daughter back to her parents’ home, but she heard that her good husband had raided the family estate, and her parents and brothers were all exiled. Shu Yuwan fell seriously ill and passed away before her daughter came of age, leaving this world. Yet, even at the moment of death, her eyes remained open. Her daughter was still unable to fend for herself, and her parents and brothers were suffering in exile. How could she willingly die at this point, but her body had already reached its limit. She opened her eyes again. She was overjoyed; some people should be abandoned when necessary.

My Thoughts on From Cradle to Courtroom
First Impressions
Okay, I went into "From Cradle to Courtroom" with some trepidation. The initial rating was a little off-putting, I'll admit. But the premise – a second chance at life, but with a major twist – was intriguing enough to make me take the plunge. And I'm glad I did! This story definitely subverted my expectations.
What Works Well
The heart of this novel is undoubtedly the main character's determination. She's reborn pregnant and uses her second chance to actively rewrite her past. I found her drive to protect her family, especially her daughter, incredibly compelling. It's a refreshing change to see a protagonist who isn't afraid to make tough decisions and fight for what she wants. Her previous life was filled with regret and now she's taking control, divorcing the deadbeat husband and securing her family's safety. This is a redemption arc done right!
The side characters also added a lot to the story. Zhao Qingqing, the time-traveling character, provided some unexpected chaos. Her attempts to introduce future technology into the past created some interesting (and sometimes disastrous) situations. I found myself constantly wondering what she would do next! The male lead was also a pleasant surprise. His willingness to embrace a divorced, single mother in ancient China speaks volumes about his character.

Final Verdict
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed "From Cradle to Courtroom." It's a story about second chances, family, and fighting for what you believe in. While some might be hesitant due to the initial premise, I urge you to give it a try. It's a rewarding read that will leave you cheering for the MC every step of the way. I'd give this novel a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
