Description

“I will never love you.” On the night of their political wedding, Abigail the Count’s daughter told Gerald the sincere soldier. Abigail was a demon king in her previous life. Even though she was a demon king, her eating habits were poor. She has been reborn as a human. She expects to enjoy luxurious foods now, but her stepmother and stepsisters nearly starve her to death. She had been living an oppressed life, and this political marriage was her hope to escape from such a life. So at least, she wants to make it clear. “… I want foods.” The black-haired, blue-eyed, and ruggedly handsome military husband was surprisingly kind to the starving girl. Abigail’s delicious food life begins as she is loved by her protective servants.

Even Though He Said He Won’t Love Me – The Count’s Daughter (Former Demon King) Is Fed by the Sincere Soldier and Becomes Happy Review & Spoilers - Novel Translator

My Thoughts on Even Though He Said He Won’t Love Me – The Count’s Daughter (Former Demon King) Is Fed by the Sincere Soldier and Becomes Happy

This title is certainly a mouthful, but after diving into "Even Though He Said He Won’t Love Me," I can see why it’s captured some attention. With a blend of comedy, drama, fantasy, romance, and even a touch of slice-of-life, it tries to offer a little something for everyone.

First Impressions

My initial reaction was curiosity, mostly due to the sheer length of the title and the intriguing premise. A count's daughter who was once a Demon King? Sign me up! The opening chapters quickly establish Abigail's character, showing her past life memories and the difficult situation she's in with her family.

What Works Well

One of the strongest points is definitely Abigail herself. She's a compelling protagonist, portrayed as a hard worker with a touch of gluttony and a strong moral compass. Her belief that one must work to eat really resonates. The comedic interactions between Abigail and her husband, the "sincere soldier," are genuinely funny. Their dynamic is a highlight, and it sounds like their banter is a significant draw for many readers. I was particularly drawn to the arranged marriage aspect, and how the story unfolds despite the initial premise of the title. The blend of her past life as a Demon King with her current aristocratic life is also well-executed.

Areas of Concern

While the premise is interesting, the depiction of cruelty within Abigail's family might be a trigger for some readers. It's a necessary element to establish her backstory and motivations, but I would have preferred a bit more nuance in how it was presented.

Final Verdict

Overall, "Even Though He Said He Won’t Love Me – The Count’s Daughter (Former Demon King) Is Fed by the Sincere Soldier and Becomes Happy" is an entertaining read with a unique premise and a charming protagonist. While the darker elements might not be for everyone, the humor and the developing romance make it worth checking out, especially if you enjoy stories with strong female leads and a dash of fantasy. I'm giving it a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. I'm curious to see where the story goes and how Abigail continues to navigate her life.
