My Thoughts on Deliverance of Counterattack
"Deliverance of Counterattack" is quite the rollercoaster of a novel, blending revenge, romance, and family drama with a healthy dose of "dog blood" angst. I initially jumped into this story intrigued by the adapted webcomic and anime, and while there are definitely elements to enjoy, it's not without its flaws.
First Impressions
The premise is undeniably captivating: a protagonist seeking revenge against those who wronged him, complicated by a cute child and a powerful love interest. The initial chapters drew me in with the promise of intense face-slapping and heartwarming family moments. However, I quickly realized that the execution doesn't always live up to the potential.
What Works Well
The relationship between the main characters is definitely a highlight. I appreciated that they were portrayed as teammates from the start, facing the villains together. Many readers praised the chemistry between the MC and ML, especially the doting love interest. The inclusion of the "bun," the adorable child, adds a layer of sweetness and family dynamics that I found endearing. I also thought the yakuza subplot added an exciting layer of action.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the translation quality is a significant issue. I found it detracted from my reading experience, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story. Also, while the plot is intriguing, it can sometimes feel rushed and riddled with plot holes. Some plot points feel questionable.

Final Verdict
Overall, "Deliverance of Counterattack" is a mixed bag. If you can overlook the translation issues and some plot inconsistencies, there's a lot to enjoy, especially the romance and family aspects. However, if you're looking for a perfectly polished and airtight plot, you might be disappointed. I'd give it a tentative recommendation, but with the caveat that you should be prepared for a somewhat bumpy ride.
