The world-building is definitely a strong point. I found myself easily immersed in the post-apocalyptic setting, and the various factions and power dynamics felt believable. The characters, especially the MC Xiu Zhong Husheng and the ML Wen Mo, are compelling, even if they can be frustrating at times. The author does a good job of making you care about their struggles and relationships. The political intrigue adds another layer of complexity that kept me engaged, even if it got a little dense towards the end. The side characters, like AZ the robot tiger and the lion cub, are also well-developed and add a lot of charm to the story.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the angst and sad backstories, there were moments when the ML's impulsiveness tested my patience. I could understand the desire for a more assertive MC in those situations. The rich kid character, who insists on helping despite being a liability, was also a source of frustration. While their intentions might have been good, their actions often felt counterproductive and annoying. Also, the abundance of plot threads towards the end can feel a bit overwhelming.
