The world-building was interesting enough to keep me engaged, although it wasn't the main focus of the story.

The strength of this novel lies in its slice-of-life feel and the long-standing relationship between the leads. One aspect that bothered me was the presence of a "b*tchy comrade" who constantly disrespected the main character. Additionally, while the "love rivals" added some drama, their persistence, even when clearly rejected, became a bit repetitive and annoying.
