The initial chapters painted a picture of a clever and cautious protagonist, which I always appreciate in a survival story. I was eager to see how she would leverage her knowledge and system to overcome the challenges of a world ravaged by environmental disasters and mutated creatures. The early focus on building a secure shelter and establishing a self-sufficient farm was definitely a highlight.
What Works Well
Many readers praised the author's knowledge of agriculture, and I have to agree. The details felt authentic, and it was refreshing to see a protagonist who wasn't entirely reliant on her system. Her hard work and resourcefulness were definitely admirable. I also enjoyed the slow-burn romance that developed later in the story. The male lead, with his cold demeanor and sharp intellect, made for an interesting dynamic with the female lead. I particularly liked that the author gave the side characters a chance to shine. It made the world feel more lived-in and less centered solely on the protagonist.
Areas of Concern
However, I did have some reservations. Some found the antagonists, particularly the female lead's family, to be cartoonishly evil, and I can see that point. Their motivations sometimes felt shallow and their actions a bit over the top. I also noticed that the protagonist could occasionally come across as somewhat callous, especially when it came to helping others. While her cautiousness is understandable, I felt that she sometimes erred on the side of being overly selfish.
