"Amongst the Stars, Out in the Ocean, There’s You" promised a sweeping romance, but after diving in, I found myself navigating some turbulent waters. The premise, rich with potential for drama and intrigue, unfortunately, didn't quite deliver the experience I'd hoped for.
First Impressions
Initially, I was drawn in by the allure of a strong female lead navigating a complex world. The tags suggested a confident and determined protagonist, and I was eager to see how she would navigate the challenges thrown her way. However, the initial chapters felt a bit rushed.
Areas of Concern
The biggest sticking point for me was the portrayal of the male lead. Some of his actions felt excessively cruel and, frankly, misogynistic. There were moments where his behavior crossed the line into being outright abusive, making it difficult to root for the central relationship. His actions often felt unprovoked and his treatment of the female lead left me feeling uneasy.

While the novel hinted at themes of resilience and second chances, the problematic portrayal of the male lead and the questionable dynamics between the main characters ultimately overshadowed any potential positives.
