Can’t write synopsis (It’s bad): It’s essentially a story about closing off one’s heart and guarding oneself against love after a breakup but then facing the violent knocking of someone trying to break in. The male lead has been decided, but I won’t reveal who it is (I’m just a bit mischievous!) Okay, it’s pretty obvious, and I won’t say it, but everyone can probably guess OvO. It should be short, I’ll try to write as briefly as possible

"After Breaking up With the Boyfriend I Secretly Loved" promised a quick and easy read, and it largely delivered on that front. As someone who enjoys a good dose of romance with a touch of drama, I dove in hoping for an engaging story, and I came away with mixed feelings.
First Impressions
The initial chapters grabbed my attention. The premise is relatable – unrequited love finally coming to an end, and the protagonist, Zhuo Li, making a clean break. I appreciated her decisiveness; she knew her worth and wasn't willing to be someone's second choice. That's always a plus in my book!
What Works Well
The dynamic between Zhuo Li and the male lead, Fu Yuan Xi, was definitely a highlight. While he initially comes across as a bit narcissistic, he softens into an almost puppy-like character as the story progresses. I found their interactions amusing and enjoyed watching their relationship develop at a believable pace. They didn’t immediately jump into bed or declare undying love, which felt refreshing. The story focused on building a connection and mutual respect, which I always appreciate. The author made the ML a green flag character that was considerate of the FL and her feelings.
Areas of Concern
Despite the enjoyable aspects, I did find myself wanting more depth. The story felt rushed at times, and I didn't get a strong sense of the characters' backgrounds. Fu Yuan Xi, in particular, remained somewhat mysterious, and I wished the author had fleshed out his life and motivations a bit more. The lack of detail made it difficult to fully invest in their relationship, even though I liked their interactions.
