Description
— All the reunions with the person you had a crush on in the past are long-cherished schemes. Ruan Yu’s web novel on Jinjiang, “Really Want to Nibble on Your Ear”, has been accused of plagiarism. She posted on Weibo: God knows, this story about a crush is from my own personal experience back when I was still a student. The other author called someone on the phone after seeing it: “Brother, I seem…… to have found the person you have a crush on.” A few days later, Ruan Yu, who had been “exposed,” looked at the prototype of the male lead in her novel and kept shaking her hand: “I don’t know him, don’t know him……” Xu Huaisong smiled with gritted teeth: You’ve already nibbled my ear. It’s too late to play dumb.

My Thoughts on You’re My Belated Happiness
"You’re My Belated Happiness" promised a sweet, second-chance romance, and for the most part, it delivered. I found myself drawn into the story of two people reconnecting after years apart, their high school crushes resurfacing in a delightful way. It was a generally enjoyable read, but it wasn't without its flaws.
First Impressions
Initially, I was charmed by the premise. The idea of a couple reuniting and navigating their long-held feelings was definitely appealing. I quickly became invested in Ruan Yu and her journey. However, some found the beginning slow, and like them, I wasn't immediately hooked, but I'm glad I stuck with it because it grew on me considerably.
What Works Well
Many readers praised the mature relationship between the leads, and I agree. The female lead is smart and independent, and the male lead is adorably cunning in his pursuit of her. I appreciated that misunderstandings were resolved quickly and maturely. Also, the author did a good job of including the characters' lives with their friends and families, which made it feel more precious and less boring. The slice-of-life aspect was done well, with some interesting cases that added depth to the story. I especially enjoyed the male lead's relationship with his sister; it felt genuine.
Areas of Concern
While I enjoyed the initial setup and the characters, I can see why some readers felt the romance became a bit bland after the couple got together. It felt like the story lost some of its spark, and the shift towards a crime/thriller plot wasn't as engaging for me. Some readers also felt that the female lead was too passive in the relationship, which I can understand. Also, I can see why some found the female lead's actions funny and even childish at times.

Final Verdict
Overall, I'd say "You’re My Belated Happiness" is a worthwhile read if you're looking for a sweet and fluffy romance with a mature couple. While it might not be the most groundbreaking story, it's a charming and enjoyable escape. I would recommend it, but with the caveat that the second half might not live up to the promise of the first.
