The premise is definitely eye-catching, bordering on absurd. Our MC gets dumped, loses his soccer spot, and suddenly becomes irresistible to every girl in a mile radius. It's a classic setup, and while I appreciate a good trope, I was hoping for a bit more originality. The initial chapters felt a little disjointed to me, jumping from the breakup to a sudden display of the MC's hidden talents. It felt like the emotional impact of the dumping was glossed over in favor of immediately establishing him as an overpowered protagonist.
What Works Well
Despite my reservations, there are some enjoyable elements. The dialogue is engaging enough to keep you reading, and the interactions between the MC and the various female characters are sometimes genuinely funny. I found myself chuckling at the absurdity of the situations he gets thrown into, especially with the "jara club" – a clear nod to OreGairu. The author does a decent job of making the story a light, easy read, perfect for when you want to switch your brain off.
Areas of Concern
My main issue is the predictability. The story follows a very linear path, and the "average" MC's constant displays of hidden talents become tiring after a while. It feels like the author throws in every possible skill – multilingualism, martial arts, academic genius – making him less relatable and more of a Mary Sue. Also, the sheer number of girls vying for his attention feels excessive, even for a harem story.
