My Thoughts on We Are Passers-by From Now On
First Impressions
"We Are Passers-by From Now On" immediately grabbed my attention with its intriguing title, suggesting a poignant tale of fleeting connections. The premise of a female protagonist deeply in love, navigating the complexities of a modern-day romance, sounded promising. However, as I delved deeper, I found myself increasingly at odds with the direction the story took.
What Works Well
Honestly, finding aspects that truly shone was a challenge. The initial setup, with the protagonist's secret crush and unrequited love, held potential. There's an inherent relatability in stories where someone pours their heart into a relationship, hoping for reciprocation. However, the execution seemed to falter, leaving me wanting more.
Areas of Concern
My biggest issue lies with the male lead. He comes across as cold and unfeeling, and his actions often left me questioning his genuine affection for the protagonist. The lack of a satisfying character arc for him is glaring. I struggled to find any redeeming qualities that would justify the protagonist's devotion. The ending, in particular, felt rushed and unsatisfying. It lacked the emotional depth and resolution I craved after investing time in these characters. The pacing felt off, with critical moments glossed over and character development seemingly sacrificed for the sake of plot progression. The lack of communication between the main characters is a constant source of frustration. This absence creates unnecessary drama and makes it difficult to root for their relationship.

Final Verdict
Ultimately, "We Are Passers-by From Now On" fell short of my expectations. While the initial premise held promise, the execution left me feeling frustrated and underwhelmed. The unlikable male lead, lack of character development, and unsatisfying ending make it difficult for me to recommend this novel. I wish there was more effort made to make the male lead likable. I give this novel a 2 out of 5.
