One night, he discovered a small figure had crawled into his bed. Nuo Nuo, upset because her mother had confiscated her toys, decided she wouldn’t play with her mom anymore. Xu Ai, not backing down, said, “Fine, go play with your dad and see how long he’ll put up with you.” Nuo Nuo indeed started to follow her dad everywhere. If her dad went to work, she wanted to go too. If she couldn’t go, she would cry. Nuonuo was picky about her food. If she was made to finish her meal, she would cry. If her toy broke, she didn’t want a new one. She would cry. If she played late into the night and was told to sleep, she would cry. The villain saw that his daughter was a crybaby and delicate, and her crying was heart-wrenching. He realized this wasn’t right and decided that the nanny was not doing a good job, so he decided to take care of her himself. Initially, Sheng Zexi just wanted to discipline Nuo Nuo and make her less spoiled and willful. But eventually, when the little princess pouted, he found himself thinking about how to make her happy.
