My Thoughts on The Villain Who Became Pregnant With The Alpha’s Child
This novel definitely has a unique premise, blending the omegaverse genre with a transmigration twist. "The Villain Who Became Pregnant With The Alpha’s Child" throws you right into the thick of things, and while it held my attention, it also left me with some mixed feelings.
First Impressions
The initial hook is strong: a transmigration into the body of a villain who's pregnant with the alpha's child. It's a recipe for drama, and I was eager to see how the protagonist would navigate this complicated situation. It's a story that promises a different feel from your typical ABO romance, and in some ways, it delivers.
What Works Well
I appreciated the MC's strength and resourcefulness. He's placed in a terrible situation, but he tries his best to make logical choices and build a life for himself and his child. Speaking of the child, Haneul is absolutely adorable, and his presence adds a heartwarming element to the story. The side characters, like the grandmother, also offer a sense of warmth and community that contrasts with the darker aspects of the plot. And many readers praised the novel's ability to avoid certain overused tropes of the ABO genre, like non-consensual situations.
Areas of Concern
My biggest issue, and one echoed by many readers, lies with the Male Lead. His past actions are… problematic, to say the least. Driving the original body to suicide is a pretty big hurdle to overcome, and I struggled to root for a romance between him and the MC, especially since the MC doesn't seem to hold him accountable for his past actions. It felt like the author glossed over the ML's past misdeeds, making his "redemption" feel unearned and inconsistent. The translation was also a bit confusing at times, with mixed-up names and pronouns making it difficult to follow the plot.

Final Verdict
"The Villain Who Became Pregnant With The Alpha’s Child" is a flawed but ultimately enjoyable read. While the problematic ML and inconsistent character development are significant drawbacks, the strong MC, cute child, and avoidance of certain ABO tropes make it a worthwhile read for those looking for a lighthearted, if somewhat predictable, omegaverse story. I'd give it a tentative 3.5/5.
