Initially, I was drawn in by the short, easy-to-read chapters. The story seemed to be finding its footing, flirting with different potential paths. Was it going to be a cold CEO romance? Or perhaps a crime thriller with psychological elements? The ambiguity, at first, was intriguing.
What Works Well
The premise of a female protagonist with a unique ability – the power to "restart time" – is inherently interesting. The early interactions between the main characters held promise, and I could see the potential for a compelling romance to develop. The author's writing style is accessible, making it easy to get through the chapters.
Areas of Concern
Unfortunately, the narrative seems to take some jarring turns. One of the biggest issues I encountered was the apparent shift in the female lead's personality and relationships. A sudden memory loss, a new boyfriend, and a complete lack of recognition towards the male lead created a sense of disconnect. The later revelation that the female lead is an AI, and hints about the male lead's non-human nature, felt like a significant departure from the initial story and added confusion rather than clarity. The plot begins to feel convoluted, losing the initial charm it had. Also, the MC risking her life for a stranger so early in the novel felt rushed and uncharacteristic.
