This novel blends comedy, fantasy, romance, and school life into a shounen ai package, and the result is... interesting, to say the least.
First Impressions
The initial hook is strong: a transmigration story where the MC tries to avoid a tragic fate by latching onto a seemingly insignificant character. The idea of a carefree protagonist trying to navigate a world he only partially understands is quite appealing. I was ready for a fun, lighthearted romp.
What Works Well
The humor is definitely a highlight. There are moments where the sheer absurdity of the situations had me laughing out loud. The dynamic between the MC and ML, despite its unconventional beginnings, has potential for some genuinely charming "bickering couple" moments. The author does a decent job of wrapping up the story, providing a satisfying conclusion to the chaos. The translation quality is also commendable, making the reading experience smooth and enjoyable.
Areas of Concern
However, the MC's thought process can be... perplexing. His motivations, particularly his obsession with securing a 9-to-5 job by clinging to the ML, often feel childish and illogical.
