Okay, so I dove into The Buddhist Girl Transmigrated Into a Book expecting a light and fluffy read, and for the most part, that's exactly what I got. The premise is pretty simple: a girl with a "Buddhist" (read: calm and unbothered) personality transmigrates into a book and has to navigate the entertainment industry. It's a setup that promises comedy and romance, and it mostly delivers.
What Works Well
What I found most appealing was the main character, Gu Mianmian's, chill attitude. She's not your typical scheming protagonist; she's just trying to live her life while fulfilling the bare minimum requirements of the plot. This leads to some genuinely funny moments, especially when her unexpected "koi" luck kicks in. The male lead, Cheng Che, also has his charms. He starts off as a cold CEO type but gradually warms up to Gu Mianmian, and I appreciated seeing his character develop throughout the story. I also enjoyed the world itself. The entertainment industry setting is fun, and the author adds a lot of detail that made the world feel fleshed out. Some of the side characters, like Xiao Zhu (MC's assistant), also added to the light-hearted tone of the novel.

While I enjoyed the overall experience, I did have a few minor issues. The plot can feel a bit thin at times, and the "following the book" aspect isn't always consistently handled. It felt more like a convenient plot device than a core element of the story. I also felt that a few plot points were glossed over and not fully explored.
